Anodyne is nobody's fool. Manipulative and harsh, this colt is not one to be caught off guard around. Watch your fingers and hands and always be on your toes when dealing with Dye. We were nervous that Augusto's killer nature would prevail, but his dam's good nature, tempered the killer attitude of his sire's nature. Though not a killer, like his sire Augusto, Dye is not a horse you want to go on a trail ride with. His mind is always thinking, you can see it in his cool exterior and intelligent eyes. It takes an expert hand to control this boy because you must always be thinking at least two steps ahead. This cunning however comes into play though on the track. He will observe his competition and think ahead of how to best and crush the competition on the track...and he has the stamina and patience to extract his revenge in the race. Dye is a versatile runner, depending upon the field and the distance, but one thing that never fails him is his lightening quick break at the gate (inherited from both sides of his pedigree). So usually he will either break to the front and tire others by toying with the pace or he will stalk the leaders, biding his time to deliver a strong closing challenge.

We have always been the biggest support and dare we say, collector, of Augusto lines, so when we got our hands another direct descendent and saw him upon birth, we knew he was going to be something special. Anodyne's two year old season was IRS first year back from a long hiatus, but he proved to be just what we needed. He showed strong performances in legs of the Triple Crown and decided with his dual capabilities to send him to the Canadian Triple Crown. We weren't disappointed when he became the second ever winner and he was only getting started, ending his three year old season with a win in the BC Marathon. His four year old season was his best yet, never finishing out of the top two.[break][break]
